Coach Ferrell is in his 14th season of coaching. He is a native of Conroe, graduating from Conroe High in 1998. After high school, went on to play baseball for Blinn Junior College, before transferring to Sam Houston State University. At SHSU he received three years of All-Conference honors and was awarded team’s Most Valuable Player in 2003. After college, he played baseball professionally with the Coastal Bend Aviators. In 2003, he graduated with a degree in History and Kinesiology from SHSU. Coach Ferrell has been the head Baseball Coach at Spring High School for the past five seasons where he compiled a record of 82-52, and led his team to state playoffs in 3 seasons. In both 2017 & 2018, Coach Ferrell was named District 16-6A “Coach of the Year”. Since 2016 he has served as the president of the SHSU Lettermens’ Association, and currently serves as a director in the HABCA (Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association). He is married to wife Kelly, and together they have a beautiful 1 year old daughter, McKinley.
