Lou Ferrell

Coach Ferrell is in his 18th season of coaching.  He is a native of Conroe, graduating from Conroe High in 1998.  After high school, he went on to play baseball for Sam Houston State University.  At SHSU he received three years of All-Conference honors and was awarded the team’s Most Valuable Player Award in 2003.  After college, he played baseball professionally with the Coastal Bend Aviators.  In 2003, he graduated with a History and Kinesiology degree from SHSU. After eight seasons of head coaching experience, he has mounted a record of 139-71-3.  In both 2017, 2018, & 2021, Coach Ferrell was named District “Coach of the Year”.  In 2019 he was honored to be named by his peers, coach of the Houston Area 6A High School All Star “North”Team.  In 2021, he was also proudly named Conroe Courier Montgomery County Baseball Coach of the Year.  Since 2016 he has served as the president and officer of the SHSU Lettermen’s Association. He also currently serves as a director in the HABCA (Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association).  He is married to wife Kelly, and together they have a beautiful 5-year-old daughter named McKinley, and newborn son named Michael.
